The configuration consists of linking the metadata of two collation rules together.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong><u>Example<\/u>: <\/strong>Let&#8217;s say we want to automatically link complaint mails and replies to those emails.<\/p>\n\n<p>We have an &#8220;Invoice&#8221; classification rule and a &#8220;<em><strong>Purchase Order<strong><\/strong><em><strong>&#8220;<\/strong><strong><\/strong> classification rule with the following metadata:<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><th>Invoice<\/th><th>Purchase Order<\/th><\/tr><tr><td>Amount excl. VAT<\/td><td>Amount excl. For example, the system will expect an invoice to be consistently linked to a purchase order, but not for a purchase order to be consistently linked to an invoice.<\/p>\n\n<p>Checking the &#8221; <strong>Also create a reciprocal binding rule&#8221; <\/strong> option allows you to create bidirectional binding rules.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click <strong>Continue<\/strong> to proceed to the next step<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Liaisonsdynamiques-Crit&#xE8;resdeliaison\">Linking Criteria<\/h1>\n\n<p>The &#8220;Automatically link documents that meet these criteria&#8221; checkbox allows you to automatically link documents, without manual operation. If it is not checked, the link will only be suggested and a user will have to validate it manually.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Please note that the automatic creation of links is not retroactive<\/strong><\/p><cite>Documents that have already been sorted and meet the linking criteria will be able to be linked in bulk manually from the link suggestion screen.  <br\/>Documents are automatically linked to two stages of a document&#8217;s lifecycle:  <br\/>&#8211; when filing a document<br\/>&#8211; when modifying one of its metadata.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>The &#8220;All conditions are true\/At least one condition is true&#8221; option is used to determine the behavior if multiple metadata is used. In this example, it will be necessary for the &#8220;Vendor Name&#8221; metadata AND the &#8220;Date&#8221; metadata to be identical for the documents to be linked.<\/p>\n\n<p>The &#8220;<strong>At least one condition is true<\/strong>&#8221; option is typically used when the binding is not automatic to provide as many suggestions as possible to the user. The &#8220;<strong>All conditions are true<\/strong>&#8221; option is preferred in case of automatic links.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.openbee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/273356254-translated.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Click &#8220;<strong>Create<\/strong>&#8220;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>Once this configuration is done, if a user wants to file an invoice in the amount of \u20ac1000 issued by the company Open Bee and if a purchase order of \u20ac1000 from the company Open Bee\u2122\u2122 is available, the documents will be automatically linked.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>In the linking screen, by default, five suggestions per page are displayed.
