{"id":21694,"date":"2022-04-11T13:53:48","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T11:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.openbee.com\/open-bee-sync\/user-guide\/data-recovery-download\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T09:37:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T07:37:41","slug":"data-recovery-download","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/help.openbee.com\/en\/open-bee-sync\/user-guide\/data-recovery-download\/","title":{"rendered":"Data recovery \/ Download"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Reprisededonn&#xE9;es\/T&#xE9;l&#xE9;chargement-Reprisededonn&#xE9;es\">Data recovery<\/h2>\n\n<p>Open Bee\u2122 Sync is a tool for synchronizing documents with Open Bee\u2122 Portal.<\/p>\n\n<p>But it can also be used to do data recovery, i.e. import a large number of documents from a Windows folder into Open Bee\u2122 Portal.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>It should be noted that with this tool, documents will be imported with the default filing rule (without metadata).<\/p><p>To import documents in bulk with metadata, other tools are available, such as Open Bee Data Importer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>In order to improve processing and avoid errors, in the event of data transfer with a large number of documents, it is advisable to modify the UpdateIconOverLay tag of the configuration file.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Configuration file: %appdata%Open BeeOpen Bee SyncConfigurationConfig.xml<\/li><li>Tag value to populate: <updateiconoverlay>EndOfSynchronization<\/updateiconoverlay><\/li><li>Restart Open Bee\u2122 Sync to account for the new configuration<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Reprisededonn&#xE9;es\/T&#xE9;l&#xE9;chargement-Tempsdetraitement\">Processing Time<\/h4>\n\n<p>The time it takes to send documents to Open Bee\u2122 Portal varies, and will depend mainly on the size of the document as well as the speed of the internet connection.<\/p>\n\n<p>It takes at least 2 seconds to send a document and about 8 seconds for a 10MB document.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>For a large data recovery (12,000 files of 430GB in total), sending all documents to Open Bee\u2122 Portal in the Cloud takes 3 days and 6 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Reprisededonn&#xE9;es\/T&#xE9;l&#xE9;chargement-T&#xE9;l&#xE9;chargement\">Download<\/h2>\n\n<p>Conversely, Open Bee\u2122 Sync can be used to retrieve documents stored in Open Bee\u2122 Portal, for example to make a backup on a hard drive.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Only documents are retrieved during upload, metadata is not exported.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Reprisededonn&#xE9;es\/T&#xE9;l&#xE9;chargement-Tempsdetraitement.1\">Processing Time<\/h4>\n\n<p>As with data transfer, the time it takes to download documents depends on the size of the documents and the speed of the internet connection.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>To download 12,000 files (430GB in total) from Open Bee\u2122 Portal to the Cloud, it takes about 19 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Data recovery Open Bee\u2122 Sync is a tool for synchronizing documents with Open Bee\u2122 Portal.
