HTTPS

Data transferred between a client workstation (scanning station, mobile application, or web browser) and Open Bee Portal over the HTTP protocol will travel in plain text over the network, unless you use the secure version (HTTPS) of the protocol.  ™

By default, the Apache server included when installing Open Bee™ Portal is available in both HTTP (for 80 or 8000) and HTTPS (for 443 or 8443).

We strongly recommend that you disable the availability of HTTP and only use HTTPS, for example by installing a reverse proxy upstream of Open Bee™ Portal.

Opening access to your Open Bee™ Portal installation on the Internet requires special attention in terms of security.
